Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice at Lakeland University

Understanding Criminal Behavior

Lakeland University’s Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice addresses crime from both practical and theoretical perspectives and combines the analytical and research skills of sociology with a clear vocational emphasis. In criminal justice classes, students learn the details of the correctional and law enforcement systems, from police procedures to community relations. Students are asked to think about how the rule of law functions in society, the nature of criminal behavior and the ways we have chosen as a society to address it.

Courses focus on how crime and criminal behavior are measured, analyzed and prevented. This program will prepare you to begin a career in law enforcement, corrections and probation/parole and give you the knowledge you need to pursue graduate study in criminal justice.
